Why I Write
This was a cool essay. It showed the many reasond to write and the passion for writing that the author had. She writes as a way to fill her time, express her emotions, and spark her creativity. It showes the need and joy the author has found in writing. This also shows the fears of writing. The fear of what we write being seen. Our words are a reflection of who we are in all of our shortcomings and triumphs.
Sleeping With Alcohol
This was a sad essay. The reader can see that the downfall of the woman is imminent. In the interview the narrator asks, ‘What was the worst thing that ever happened to you while you were drunk?’ The woman lists all of these things and yet, she continues to drink. The reader gets a view of the woman through the narrator’s eyes. It seems that she could have been this great and wonderful artist. The woman is described as all of these wonderfull things, then, she is drunk.
